马华:4中委被开除 MCA:4 CC member sacked

在马华中委会召开4小时前,4 中委:曹智雄、蔡金星、姚伟豪、颜奉守被翁诗杰的政治秘书通知中止党职。这四名中委都曾经签署召开特大的要求。

4 hours before the crucial Central Committee of MCA fixed today, Deputy Home Minister Chor Chee Hueng, Chai Kim Sen, national organising secretary Yoo Wei How and Gan Hon Su were informed by political secretary of Ong Tee Keat that they were sacked from the party.

The abovesaid four central committee members had signed the requisition for a EGM.

翁诗杰撤除梁邓忠, Tee Keat Reshuffles MCA

马华总会长翁诗杰今日在其网站证实撤除法律主任梁邓忠的职务,他将在近日内宣布填补人选。他表示这是马华重组及改革的决定。

MCA President Ong Tee Keat confirms the removal of the party’s legal bureau chairman Datuk Leong Tang Chong.  He wrote in his blog that he will announce the replacement in due course.  He claims this is a decision to reshuffle and reform MCA.

梁氏是马华资深党员,担任该党法律主任近20年,由林良实时代,便开始出任。他也是《星报》的董事主席。

A senior member of MCA, Leong has held the position of legal bureau chairman for almost 20 years, since Tun Ling Liong Sik’s time.  He is also the non-executive director of English newspaper The Star.

传言他被革职或与他对第二特大的诠释有关,据说,梁氏认为第二特大涉嫌违反党章。

It was rumored that his interpretation of the second EGM has caused Leong’s removal.  It was said that Leong is of the view that the second EGM is in breach of MCA’s constitution.

MCA saga:Liow Meeting Ong

It was reported in the Chinese dailies today that MCA newly appointed Vice President had met Ong Tee Keat.  Both have expressed friendly intention to work together.

According to sources, the outcome might be Ong Tee Keat will continue to head MCA working hand in hand with Liow.

Both have met for the first time on the 18th for the agenda of a continued partnership, and it was reported that both parties were keen on the deal, a concrete understanding is expected to be attained within 2 or 3 days.

It was reported that both have agreed to meet for the sake of the party, and the discussion was premised on stablising the present situation.  To avoid any unforeseen circumstances due to any delay, both have agreed to meet for the second time at a soonest time possible.

It was also reported that Ong and Liow have settled their scores and clarified all misunderstanding on the issue of betrayals and coup staging.  Both agreed that all these were caused by a communication breakdown.

马华公会总会长翁诗杰决定不走,并指示召开另一次特别大会,以决定是否需要重新选举,以选出新的中委会成员。

Ong Tee Keat decided to remain as President of MCA, and ordered another EGM to decide whether to have a fresh election to appoint new central committee.

中委会议决委任副总会长廖中莱担任署理主席。
The Central Committee also appointed Liow Tiong Lai as deputy president.

PKFZ: Sin Chew Daily Exclusive Interview Part 2

Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat is also the MCA President.  He reveals that the PKFZ involved MCA internally. Political and commercial forces have infiltrated into the party, these forces have even expressed that they are willing to uproot him at all cost.

What irks Ong most is that hese forces intend to show a value that those who investigated the fiasco is worse than those who created it.  They are trying to create a harmonious facade, which they think is more important than the truth. Read more…

PKFZ: Ong Tee Keat Exclusive Interview with Sin Chew Daily (Part 1)

An interesting interview with the Minister of Transport and MCA President appears as front page headline on Sin Chew Daily (Evening Edition)today. 

Ong has been the limelight recently as Opposition leader Lim Kit Siang made request in public for Ong to be accountable for the PKFZ fiasco.

MFN produced the translation for the said interview as follows:

Kuala Lumpur July 15, Minister of Transport Dato Seri Ong Tee Keat revealed that few powers tried to prevent him from making public the PWC report on PKFZ.

The restraining power came from those personally involved, political and commercial power that combined power with those involved, and certain individuals in the governing parties, he claims.

“The have taken measures to threaten my personal safety, applying internal pressures to stop me from releasing the report.”

During the interview with Sin Chew Daily, Ong shares his feelings and various encounter while handling PKFZ fiasco after assuming the position of the Minister of Transport last year.

His safety was under threat

He describes that the combination of few powers has besieged him.  These include the joint forces of political and commercial power to prevent him from releasing the report; and after the report is made public, he has been slammed with various untrue allegation by Chinese opposition parties.

He also claims that some had even engaged the underworld to convey message that if he vanishes one day, he would know what has happened. Read more…
